TRIBECA FESTIVAL 2024 ANNOUNCES CREATORS MARKET PARTICIPANTS
NEW YORK, NY, June 4, 2024 —The 2024 Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, today announced the participants for this year’s Tribeca Festival Creators Market, in partnership with Indeed, a leading global matching and hiring platform, featuring a highly curated selection of creators pitching new feature, episodic, audio, and immersive projects to a group of industry professionals.
A pillar of Tribeca’s commitment to supporting storytellers in all stages of their careers, the Tribeca Festival Creators Market is an interdisciplinary industry pitch market for pre-selected feature film, episodic, immersive, and podcast creators. It puts a strong emphasis on diversity and developing fresh creative voices, and presents a platform for creators to discuss projects with industry leaders from companies like Sony Pictures Classics, NEON, Cinetic Media, Paramount+, MAX, IFC Films, the Sundance Institute, who can support their vision from early development to post-production.
This year, the program will include narrative projects from Tallie Medel (Everything Everywhere All At Once) who will pitch her feature script KETCHIKAN; Lauren Minnerath, who will pitch her feature narrative CLARE, executive produced by Nia DaCosta(Candyman, The Marvels, the upcoming 28 Years Later); as well as Oliver Edwin, who will present his narrative feature SITUATION #64, which has Hari Nef(Barbie, Tribeca 2023’s Bad Things) onboard to star and produce alongside producer Lizzie Shapiro(Shiva Baby). Tribeca alums Tisha Robinson-Daly and Jonathan Mason, who previously participated in the Creators Market and in Tribeca’s Epic Games Writing in Unreal program, will return to pitch their narrative feature in production, HIGH. The documentary selection includes REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE, a feature directed by Maya Cueva (On the Divide) and produced by Daniel Tantalean (In the Summers) on the life & career of Dr. Quentin Young–personal physician to Fred Hampton and Martin Luther King Jr - and the archival footage-led documentary ICTV (INMATE CORRECTIONS TELEVISION), the latest project from Josh Koury, Trisha Koury & Myles Kane, the team behind Netflix’s Voyeur documentary. On the episodic front, Simon Tatum and Mat Fraser (The Mandalorian) will pitch their docuseries MONSTROUS!, which explores horror through the lens of disability.
“I love the circus. My film, CIRCUS PERSON, is the start of a longer story I can’t wait to share about the contemporary circus community,” said actor and Tribeca Creators Market alum Britt Lower. “I’m so grateful to the Tribeca Festival—the earliest champion of our independent spirit—and for the 2020 Tribeca Creators Market, which sparked groundwork for the bigger picture project to come.”
Eight participants from the 2023 Creators Market, who were unable to pitch last year due to the Writers Guild of America strike, will return this year. Additional Tribeca Festival alumni participating in the Market areEddie Kim (producer of Tribeca 2022’s Liquor Store Dreams) and Katie Green & Carlye Rubin (directors of Tribeca 2017’s The Family I Had).
With an ongoing commitment to independent storytelling, in conjunction with the Creators Market, Tribeca will also host a pilot edition of The Circle, a new exclusive industry program that aims to support top future digital and immersive talent through a collective effort and a group engagement of Tribeca’s most valuable associates: Accenture Song, ArtScience Museum Singapore, Cosm, EY Metaverse Labs, Google, Meta, MIT Open Documentary Lab, ONX Onassis Studio, PHI Center, Runway, ZeroSpace.
