“The Bear's” Edwin Lee Gibson Brings His Flavor as a Presenter to the 2025 Writers Guild Awards

Los Angeles – The WGAW announces Edwin Lee Gibson as one of the Presenters at the 2025 Writers Guild Awards Los Angeles show at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, February 15.
Actor Edwin Lee Gibson portrays the role of Ebraheim, the mysterious cook in “The Bear,” which has become a fan favorite on FX/Hulu—The Bear (11 Emmy Awards in its second, and 10 for season one). The Bear continues to captivate audiences in its third season, as Gibson’s character, Ebraheim, now runs the Italian Beef window, serving sandwiches while concealing deep emotions rooted in his hidden past.
Gibson takes pride in the camaraderie among the diverse cast of The Bear. Fans look forward to the fourth season. The role was presented to Gibson during the 2020 pandemic. “I was in Tucson chilling,” said Gibson. “My manager encouraged me to check out some of the work Christopher Storer [the creator of The Bear] had done. I was impressed. Later, when I met Christopher over Zoom, he told me he had seen me in the theater five years earlier and had always wanted to work with me. Christopher described Ebrahiem as ‘a mystery who’s lived a thousand lives.’ That was all the motivation I needed.”
Gibson is also alongside Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo in the series “Unprisoned,” and with Chris Rock’s foil, Lionel “Happy” Holloway, in season four of “Fargo,” recently stars in the movie “She Taught Love” opposite Arsenal Thomas and Darrell Britt-Gibson.
WGAW announced that standup comedian, writer, and actor Joel Kim Booster will host the 2025 Writers Guild Awards Los Angeles show.
Joining Gibson as a Presenter at the 2025 Writers Guild Awards Los Angeles show will include Jordan Firstman (English Teacher, Ms. Marvel), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Don Jon, Mr. Corman), Adele Lim (Joy Ride, Crazy Rich Asians), Justine Lupe (Succession, Nobody Wants This), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet), Joe Manganiello (True Blood, One Tree Hill), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul, Bad Boys: Ride or Die), Kiernan Shipka (The Last Showgirl, Mad Men), Lisa Ann Walter (Abbot Elementary, The Parent Trap), Cedric Yarbrough (Reno 9-1-1, Juror #2), and more to come.
“I’m very excited about attending this year’s WGA. I became a writer because of my love for writers… What a joy to be asked to present to them, “ said Edwin.
