(Los Angeles, CA) –The Jonathan Foundation’s 10th Annual Spring Fundraiser announces Amanda Booth, Model and Actress, as this year’s honoree. The Spring Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Universal Sheraton, 333 Universal Hollywood Drive, Los Angeles, CA 91608, at 5:00 PM.
Popular Actor James Pickens, Jr is known for his role as Dr. Richard Webber on Prime Time Emmy-winning show ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, and Kathleen Bradley-Redd, former Barker Beauty on the Daytime Emmy Award-winning game show The Price Is Right and as Mrs. Parker in the movie Friday.
The Jonathan Foundation addresses the needs of children with Autism and educational, emotional, and behavioral challenges through referral to professionals and organizations that provide advocacy, education, assessments, and resources to create a collaboration between families and school districts.
This year’s honoree, Amanda Booth, became an advocate for inclusion in the media after giving birth to her son Micah, who has Down Syndrome and Autism. She has written articles globally for Harper’s Bazaar and has been featured with her son as the first person with Down Syndrome on the cover of Vogue. She received the Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award for involvement with the Global Down Syndrome Foundation in 2019. Branching out from being a social media advocate, she now produces inclusive projects that have been paving the way (at festivals like SXSW) for other actors with Intellectual Disabilities. Raja Marhaba, Founder and President of The Jonathan Foundation, has established an Assessment Scholarship Program, and proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward funding assessments. The Jonathan Foundation advocates for children with learning disabilities and provides advocacy resources for children with intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, ADD/ADHD, apraxia, Autism/Asperger’s, behavioral disorders, bipolar, brain injury, cerebral palsy, developmental disabilities, diabetes, Down Syndrome, dyslexia, epilepsy, learning disabilities, mental health, mental retardation, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Tourette's Syndrome.
This year’s event sponsor is L’Oréal Paris. L’Oréal Paris will provide swag bags to all in attendance. Raja B. Marhaba was selected as one of the 2019 Women of Worth Honorees by L’Oréal Paris for her outstanding work with The Jonathan Foundation For Children with Learning Disabilities.
The Annual Spring Fundraiser is always a great event, with dinner, entertainment, a magic show by Mayseo from the Magic Castle, and heartfelt positive testimonies by parents and children. Celebrities and Influencers lend their names and attend the event, making it a magical night.
