FX’s best-kept secret has a name: Edwin Lee Gibson As The Bear returns this June 25th, one of television’s most quietly riveting talents steps deeper into the spotlight.

Los Angeles, CA — In the pressure-cooker kitchen of FX’s The Bear, Edwin Lee Gibson is the still flame. As Ebraheim—the soft-spoken, sharp-eyed cook whose past is more legend than biography—Gibson delivers presence without noise, and mystery without performance. Season 4 of the critically adored series arrives this June 25th, with all episodes streaming, and Gibson’s latest turn in a role that continues to haunt viewers and critics alike.

At the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Gibson and his castmates earned the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, solidifying The Bear not only as one of television’s most talked-about shows—but one of its most deeply acted.

Fresh off his appearance as a presenter at the 2025 Writers Guild Awards, Gibson completed principal work on his directorial debut, a short film titled:a pink and red dress, made of satin… covered in flowers, mostly roses — currently in post-production.

In a sleepy border town, a young woman faces the uncertainty of love, the power of mysticism… and the secret a dress holds to her family’s post.

“My writing is an extension of the worlds I create as an actor,” says Gibson. “This film is something deeply personal—but also something I hope many will feel haunted by, softly.”

A respected chameleon of the screen and stage, Gibson’s career defies formula. He was cast in The Bear during the pandemic after creator Christopher Storer revealed he had seen Gibson onstage five years earlier—and wanted to work with Gibson ever since. “Christopher described Ebraheim as a mystery who’s lived a thousand lives,” Gibson recalls. “That was all the motivation I needed.”
