UNITED STATE OF WOMEN SUMMIT ANNOUNCES FINAL LINE-UP
Program features Michelle Obama in conversation with Tracee Ellis Ross 6,000 Diverse Changemakers Gather for Summit on May 5 and 6
Los Angeles--On Saturday and Sunday, the United State of Women is bringing together more than 6,000 women and allies to turn their passion into action. The program will feature women leaders, including former First Lady Michelle Obama in conversation with actor and activist Tracee Ellis Ross and Journalist and Editor Elaine Welteroth moderating a conversation with Actress and Activist Yara Shahidi, Activist, Educator, Writer, and Co-Founder of Campaign Zero Brittany Packnett, and U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris. The program will also include performances by artists FLETCHER and DJ Young1. The program will also be available via live stream at facebook.com/theunitedstateofwomen or unitedstateofwomen.org. “Women know their power, and by coming together we are growing the movement for change,” said Jordan Brooks, managing director of the United State of Women. “We are thrilled to bring together women from across the country who are ready to collaborate and get the skills they need to make their vision of the future a reality.” Speakers throughout the day will be featured from the eight United State of Women intersectional issue pillars: Economic Empowerment, Women’s Health and Reproductive Justice, Supporting Survivors of Gender-Based Violence, Access to Education, Art & Culture, Civic Engagement, Human Rights, and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. The sessions will showcase women and allies who have defined a powerful vision through their trailblazing work, and will continue to inspire all of us to keep working towards change.
