ACCLAIMED NOVELIST & TV SERIES CREATOR ANAR ALI SIGNS WITH ATLAS

Toronto, ON (May 6, 2025)— Anar Ali, the Creator and Executive Producer of the hit CBC and NBCUniversal police procedural, ALLEGIANCE has signed with Atlas Literary and Atlas Artists in the US. Ali’s team at Atlas includes Alex Hertzberg, Ethan Harari and Adam Burger.


The acclaimed Canadian television drama ALLEGIANCE, which Ali created, executive produces and is a writer on, is currently nominated for eight Canadian Screen Awards, including a writing nod for Ali and for Best Dramatic Series. The series was nominated for four Writers Guild of Canada screenwriting awards with two nominations for Ali and it was just announced that the series has been picked up for a third season. Ali is an entrepreneur who left a successful career in the corporate world to pursue her dream of becoming a writer; working as a Business Development Executive at Procter & Gamble before attending the Canadian Film Centre.

A critically acclaimed short story writer and novelist, Ali’s first book, BABY KHAKI’S WINGS, was a finalist for multiple awards including the Commonwealth Writers' Prize, and her debut novel, NIGHT OF POWER, was published internationally by Penguin Random House. Ali started her TV career in 2016 when she won a development deal with CBC’s Diverse Creators Program and shortly after she was a writer on NBCUniversal and CTV’s hit medical drama, TRANSPLANT. In 2023, ALLEGIANCE was ordered to series and is currently airing its second season in more than 100 countries around the world. She currently has three new series and two feature films in development.
