A-MAN, Inc. STEM Center Partners with Holman United Methodist Church on Saturday School of African American History for Children “Conversation with Legacy Champions”

Los Angeles, CA — A-MAN, Inc. STEM Center partnered with Holman United Methodist Church on Saturday School of African American History (SSAAH) presenting a “Conversation with Legacy Champions” held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Holman Church.
The focus group was children, 3rd to 9th graders, who learned African American History from legendary African American trailblazers.
Invited Legacy Speakers included Rev. James Lawson, Jr, Activist, Pastor Emeritus of Holman UMC; Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith, Dean, College of Medicine, Charles R. Drew University; Ivor Dawson, Creator of the Traveling Space Museum; Dr. Eraka Bath, Professor, UCLA Children and Forensic Psychiatry; Attaya Reed-Brown, Manager, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems; Dr. Jo Isabel Jones, Pediatric Cardiologist; Nadia Calme, Artivista, Teacher, Choreographer, Author, Theatrical & Director of The Afro Peruvian Experience; ICYOLVA Drum Corps, and Ricardo LJ Mowatt, Youth Development Program Manager/Educator, Mentor, Drummer & President & CEO Mowatt Entertainment.
Students learned African American History and enjoyed entertainment, food, and gifts, along with meeting and talking to present-day legendary African American trailblazers.
Along with A-MAN, other sponsors include the Brotherhood Crusade, Children Youth and Family Collaborative, and Ignited Light.
