(Los Angeles) Award-winning actress Morgan Avery McCoy will perform her inspiring one-woman shows, Evolution of a Black Girl: From the Slave House to the White House and She’s Got Issues to audiences around the U.S. When Academy Award-winning Actor Louis Gossett, Jr. took notice of McCoy’s Evolution of a Black Girl show, Gossett co-sponsored her 30 city college tour in 2015 and it changed her life. While on tour, she won the APCA’s Cultural Act the Year Award. The show continues on as her 2019 Catch the Dream Tour. Their stories take the audience on a journey from 1600 in Africa to present day in America. McCoy has since toured at over 300 venues nation-wide, performing her one-woman play. She’s Got Issues takes the audience on a journey through seven women’s lives ranging from the age of 9 to 89 years old. She utilizes comedy and drama to address topics including, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, self-esteem, loneliness, breast cancer, depression and 3rd generational households. These inspirational productions will have the audience laughing, crying and healing all at the same time. About Morgan Avery McCoy Morgan McCoy is the CEO and founder of MAM, Inc. She has been producing redemptive plays, short films, PSA’s, starring in TV shows and films for the past decade. She can be seen on national TV commercials, films and drama to motivate audiences of all ages. Recently, she starred in Heart TV Show and the docudrama, Black Wall Street, streaming on Amazon. McCoy is a native of Newport News, VA and graduated Valedictorian from Hampton Christian High School. She earned her B.A. at Hampton University, majoring in Theater and went on to earn her M.A. from Regent University. She is a licensed and ordained minister.
