Sophia Schneider of Kansas City Named NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid
As Winner of NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest Presented by Danimals, Schneider Will Serve as the Official
NFL PLAY 60 Ambassador and Help "Kick Off" Super Bowl LI
Kansas City Chiefs fan and Olathe, Kan. native, SOPHIA SCHNEIDER, 13, is this year's NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid, the NFL announced today. As the winner, Schneider will act as the official NFL PLAY 60 Ambassador during Super Bowl Week and will deliver the game ball to a game official on-field moments before the kickoff of Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday, Feb. 5 on FOX.
ABC's Good Morning America hosts broke the news to Schneider in-studio this morning with the help of Kansas City Chiefs P DUSTIN COLQUITT and K CAIRO SANTOS. Schneider is the tenth NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid. Hundreds of young fans nationwide entered the 2016 NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest Presented by Danimals online at NFLRUSH.com. To be eligible, Schneider pledged to be active for 60 minutes a day and submitted a video showcasing her passion for "trying new things to get moving and motivated." Schneider participated in interviews and ultimately received the most votes among three finalists on NFLRUSH.com.
Schneider is a standout leader in her community, dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and sports participation. She is a Fuel Up to Play 60 ambassador and recently met with the Kansas State Department of Education and the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., to discuss the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. A passionate NFL fan, she cheers for the Chiefs with her entire family on Sundays. Schneider also supports her brother who plays youth football in Kansas City.
During the week leading up to Super Bowl LI, Schneider will visit NFL Experience Driven by Genesis, the epicenter for NFL fans in Houston during Super Bowl Week; interview members of the Super Bowl teams at Super Bowl Opening Night Fueled by Gatorade; walk the red carpet at NFL Honors; and visit Super Bowl Live Presented by Verizon amongst other events.
In its tenth year, the NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest Presented by Danimals is part of NFL PLAY 60, the league's youth health and wellness platform to get kids across the country active for 60 minutes a day.
